 以自己的眼睛洞察!

See with your own eyes!

 彼一时,此一时也。 孟子.公孙丑下》

 这是 。。。一个原则, 即,每件事追求它固定的时间与时代,每一个果实的出现和成熟有所注定的适应季节。。。;一旦时间到了,它那个潜在能量的宝藏可以最好地释放, 此类纯粹新礼物的荣光才会体现出来。(巴哈欧拉之写作摘录)

It is “…of the principle that, for everything a time hath been fixed, and for every fruit a season hath been ordained… which the latent energies of such a bounty can best be released, and the vernal glory of such a gift can only be manifested…” (“Gleanings from the Writings of Baha’u’llah”, p. 263)

一切事都有其自己适合的时间,每个时间也都有其自己的要求和条件。在夏季需要的什么好事,是不适宜冬天的时间;必于春天进行的工作,要在冬季的时候做就太迟而不相关了。很久产生的东西虽然在其时间接受了满意,可能不会总是继续良好而令人满足。一件漂亮的服装和新的装备,在适当的时间与季节成为非常和适;但,一使用地旧了就应被抛弃。一种行为和生活方式尽管小的时候被人认为很好值得称赞的,不过人一长大了那个实行不再合适而无值得赞扬,它实际上也可能被看作是一个很大的叛逃和不完善的态度和姿势。在以前的时代只有英勇地保护和保障家庭单位的利益是足够的而是非常值得称赞的;虽然家庭的权益还是特别重要,但是,现在 就保障家庭单位是不够的。要为了自人的城市和区域全心全意地争取与努力,在尽一切的英勇由于自己的国家和民族战斗,尽管都从前算是最崇高的荣誉,现在这样是不够的而不再有助于单一的区域或地区的保护和繁荣。需要现在的是把全地球看它更一个国家一样而算全世界的人一个国家的人民,是为了全人类努力地参加保护和维护地球及其它所有资源和财富。 在遵守这种原则的过程中和这时代的需求,我们所独立的国家和地区的保护与善良将得到保证而肯定地被保障。就当时人类都值得的繁荣和完善才将发现,那样每个人希望的善良情况才将正当地被发生。  

Everything has its own time and every time has its own requirement and conditions.  What is good and needed in summer, would not be suitable for the winter period; and what is to be done in spring, could be too late and irrelevant to be undertaken in wintry season. Something that had been good and acceptable in a certain period of time, might very well not continue to be good and satisfactory.  Once to have been a nice garment, a brand new clothing cannot be expected to remain becoming and fit at all times—it would naturally need to be discarded when used overly and gotten old. A behavior and a way of life and conduct that was considered to be right and praiseworthy in childhood, would not be commendable and appropriate—in fact may even be seen as a great defection and mere imperfection—for a grown up and adult person.  In former times it was very praiseworthy and heroic to safeguard and protect the interests of a family unit, whatever it took and however the sacrifice—and it surely is important and shall ever to be so—but to just think of one’s own family is certainly not enough, no more.  To devotedly endeavor and fight for one’s city and region, and heroically exert every effort in battle-fields for one’s country and nation, was the noblest act and honor; but now that alone is not sufficient, nor conducive to the protection and prosperity, safeguard and advancement of that single region or that one country.  What is the requirement of this time, sufficing and fit for the demands of this age, is to see the world as one planet and its people as one people. It is joining the will and the effort to protect and safeguard the planet, preserving it and its resources and wealth, for all.  Abiding by this principle and meeting the calls of this age and this period of time, the goodness and protection of our own independent nations and regions, our own neighborhoods and families too shall all be safeguarded and treasured.  Then, everyone will attain the prosperity and perfection which each one rightfully deserves and aspires for it to happen. 

 

  灵性之子啊!在我眼里,万象中最可爱的是正义;如你渴望我,就别背离它,不要忽视它,我才会信任你。凭它之助,你将以自己的眼睛洞察而不是通过邻人的知识。在你心中沉思这点; 你该怎么做。真确的, 正义是我赐予你的礼物和我对你慈爱与仁慈的表现和象征。  (巴哈欧拉, 《巴哈欧拉之隐言经》,3 页) 

“O Son of Spirit! The best beloved of all things in My sight is Justice; turn not away therefrom if thou desirest Me, and neglect it not that I may confide in thee.  By its aid thou shalt see with thine own eyes and not through the eyes of others, and shalt know of thine own knowledge and not through the knowledge of thy neighbor.  Ponder this in thy heart; how it behooveth thee to be. Verily Justice is My gift to thee and the sign of My loving-kindness. Set it then before thine eyes.” (Revealed by Baha’u’llah, “Hidden Words”, p. 3)

若水
Like Water

上善若水。水善利万物而不争,处众人之所恶,故几于道。居善地,心善缘,与善仁,言善信,政善治,事善能,动善时。《道德经.第八章》

“Best of goodness and excellence is that of the water.  Water’s merit and goodness lies in its benefitting all things; and in spite of that, roaring and flowing gently with free nature, it treads the path of lowliness and reaches down the places where all men dislike. Hence its path is near to that of the Tao.  Residing on the ground of goodness, with heart rooted in goodness, benevolent and kind, the words spoken are honest and trusted, the leadership is powerful and healing, the affairs are useful and works rendered capable and effective, and the changes are timely and proper.”   (“Dao De Jing”, chapter 8)

你们上帝的人啊!公正善良的博学而为教导人民致力,有自由地从基地和贪婪自然的提示被自好守卫的人们,在他世界欲望的视域,是真实知识天堂的星。必要与高区别对待他们。他们 确是更软流动水的喷泉一样,是发光灿烂的星又神圣被保佑树的果子,是天堂力量的代表者,上天智慧的海洋也。幸福的愉快是跟随他们的人。实在,这样的人物在那些,即,与他们都将是完美完好之中,在上帝、强大阁下的王主之经典被编号。 (《巴哈欧拉之经典》,页97

“O people of God!  Righteous men of learning who dedicate themselves to the guidance of others and are freed and well guarded from the promptings of a base and covetous nature are, in the sight of Him Who is the Desire of the world, stars of the heaven of true knowledge.  It is essential to treat them with deference.  They are indeed fountains of soft-flowing water, stars that shine resplendent, fruits of the blessed Tree, exponents of celestial power, and oceans of heavenly wisdom.  Happy is he that followeth them.  Verily such a soul is numbered in the Book of God, the Lord of the mighty Throne, among those with whom it shall be well.” (“Tablets of Baha’u’llah”, p. 97)
小人专希望人给,给过就忘。君子不轻受人恩,受则必报。(本书作者:星云大师 )

A mean person expects all things from others, and then forgets to reward the favor.  A virtuous person does not expect things from others, and always thinks of repaying favors. (From Book written by Xing Yun Dashi)

“O MY BROTHER! Hearken to the delightsome words of My honeyed tongue, and quaff the stream of mystic holiness from My sugar-shedding lips.  Sow the seeds of My divine wisdom in the pure soil of thy heart, and water them with the water of certitude, that the hyacinths of My knowledge and wisdom may spring up fresh and green in the sacred city of thy heart.”

From an anonymous poet in Chinese with English translation:

我们不畏黑夜,要走向黎明
我们不怕寒冷,要迎向阳光
我们不嫌脏乱,要改造环境
 
我们不惧挫折,要勇敢担当

   Don't fear night,but greet the dawn.
   Don't fear cold,but embrace the sun.
   Don't fear disorder,but cleanse your surroundings.
   Don't fear frustration,but bravely shoulder responsibility.


在真正幸福与那仅仅是幻想之间是,我们一旦到达那前一个而赢得它,我们就非常珍惜它, 不要它消失,并且一直热切地设法追求有更多的;以那后情况下来说明,然而,一旦我们拥有了它我们就感到着满意有时不在要它而时常还没有充分地享用它我们的焦点就分散搜寻幸福,我们可能感到徒劳不足道的,甚至更坏也我们或许默默地混淆和太困厄地感觉生活是奇怪又没有什么意思。于真正的幸福导致与起因的渴望和情绪是完美完全的喜悦,因为它丰富既灵魂又心,理性又心情;它装饰既人精神又他物质的住宅。幻想物质的幸福仅能遇见人暂短的需要和追求;因为,它本身是临死没有持久的踪影和作用,类似渐渐离开飘动的阴影。物质世界,因此,与它乐趣和幸福一起投掷于我们哀痛和绝望;但,精神世界仅赠送喜悦。

The difference between the happiness which is real and the one which is mere illusion is that once we reach to the former and earn it, we treasure it dearly, do not want it to vanish, eagerly trying and pursuing to have more; in the case of the later, however, once we possess it we feel satisfied and at times without even enjoying it fully, our focus gets distracted and our mind begins wondering about the meaning of our life, silently confused and distressed too perhaps, searching for happiness! The eagerness and sentiment caused by and resulted from the real one is a holistic joy as it enriches both the soul and the mind, adorns both the spiritual and material abodes of ones being, while the later and passing one only meets the material, the mortal and fleeting needs and pursuits and thus itself mortal with no lasting trace and effect, drifts away like a shadow.  The world of matter, therefore, casts sorrow and despair on us along with its pleasures and happiness; where "The spiritual world bestows only joy."

芬芳甘泉 “Sweet scented stream”

“From the sweet-scented streams of Thine eternity give me to drink, O my God, and of the fruits of the tree of Thy being enable me to taste, O my Hope!  From the crystal springs of Thy love suffer me to quaff, O my Glory, and beneath the shadow of Thine everlasting providence let me abide, O my Light!  Within the meadows of Thy nearness, before Thy presence, make me able to roam, O my Beloved, and at the right hand of the throne of Thy mercy, seat me, O my Desire!  From the fragrant breezes of Thy joy let a breath pass over me, O my Goal, and into the heights of the paradise of Thy reality let me gain admission, O my Adored One!  To the melodies of the dove of Thy oneness suffer me to hearken, O Resplendent One, and through the spirit of Thy power and Thy might quicken me, O my Provider!  In the spirit of Thy love keep me steadfast, O my Succorer, and in the path of Thy good pleasure set firm my steps, O my Maker!  Within the garden of Thine immortality, before Thy countenance, let me abide for ever, O Thou Who art merciful unto me, and upon the seat of Thy glory stablish me, O Thou Who art my Possessor!  To the heaven of Thy loving-kindness lift me up, O my Quickener, and unto the Daystar of Thy guidance lead me, O Thou my Attractor!  Before the revelations of Thine invisible spirit summon me to be present, O Thou Who art my Origin and my Highest Wish, and unto the essence of the fragrance of Thy beauty, which Thou wilt manifest, cause me to return, O Thou Who art my God!
